The Google Play rule

Why every new developer account gets stuck

Since November 2023, Google requires personal developer accounts to run a closed test with at least 12 testers who stay opted in for 14 days in a row before the app can go to production. Finding 12 people who keep an app installed for two weeks is the hard part — one drop-out and the count starts over.

How it works

Four steps, about ten minutes of your time

You stay in full control of your Play Console. We never ask for your password.

  1. 01Day 0

    Add our tester group

In Play Console, add our Google Group [email protected] to your closed testing track and send the change for review.

  2. 025 minutes

    Submit your app and pay

Paste your closed testing opt-in link, add a test account if your app needs a login, and pay by card or PayPal.

  3. 03Days 1–14

Our phones join and test daily

13 to 20 real Android phones, depending on your plan, opt in, install your app from Google Play and use it every single day. Follow it live on your dashboard.

    Apply for production

After 14 days, apply for production access in Play Console. We give you a report and tips for Google's questions.

Everything included

One dashboard for the whole 14-day journey

Real devices, real daily engagement and a clear record of everything that happened.

  • Real phones, real Google accounts

Every tester is a physical Android phone signed in with its own Google account. No emulators, no shared accounts.

  • Daily engagement, every day

Each phone opens your app and goes through real flows every day, so Google sees steady engagement for all 14 days.

  • Live 14-day progress

See which day you are on, how many testers are installed and what happened on each day.

  • Bug reports with screenshots

Crashes, freezes and broken screens are reported with the phone model, Android version and a screenshot.

  • Spare testers on standby

Every plan has more phones than the 12 required. If one has a problem, a spare keeps your count above 12 and your 14 days running.

  • Your account stays yours

We only need your opt-in link. No Play Console access, no passwords, no changes to your listing.

Our device farm

A rack of real Android phones, testing around the clock

Your app runs on a mix of brands, screen sizes and Android versions — the same variety your users have. Layout bugs and crashes on older phones show up before your launch, not after.

FAQ

Questions developers ask us

Still unsure? Write to [email protected] — we usually reply within a few hours.

What is the Google Play 12 testers for 14 days requirement?

Personal developer accounts created after November 13, 2023 must run a closed test with at least 12 testers who stay opted in for the last 14 days in a row. Only then can you apply for production access and publish the app to everyone.

Are your testers real devices?

Yes. Every tester is a physical Android phone in our farm with its own Google account. The phones install your app from Google Play and use it every day — no emulators.

Do you need access to my Google Play Console?

No. You add our Google Group to your closed testing track and give us the opt-in link. You keep full control of your account at all times.

How do I add your testers to my closed test?

In Play Console open Test and release → Closed testing → your track → Testers, choose Google Groups and add [email protected]. Save, then send the changes for review in the Publishing overview.

How soon does testing start?

Our phones join within 24 hours of your payment, as soon as Google has approved your closed testing track. Day 1 starts when the testers are opted in.

What if a tester drops out?

Every plan gives you more phones than the 12 required: 13, 15 or 20. If a phone has a problem we replace it with a spare right away, so you never fall below 12 testers.

Can you test an app that requires a login?

Yes. Add a test account when you submit your app and our phones sign in with it to use the app like a real user.

Do you guarantee Google will approve my app?

Google decides on production access, and it also looks at your app and your answers to its questions. We guarantee the testing part: if access is refused because our testers did not meet the requirement, you get a full refund.

How do I pay?

With PayPal, or by card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through PayPal's secure checkout. In most countries you don't need a PayPal account. Prices are in US dollars and you pay once per app.
